How to Prevent unwanted pregnancy

It is better to be careful than to be indulged in damage control later. There are many ways to avoid undesired pregnancies. In this blog, we will discuss a few methods of preventing conception and what to do if you face undesired pregnancies.

Contraceptive pills: The pills are widely used for contraception. They have a high success rate when taken on time every day.  Pills contain estrogen and progestin hormones, so contraception is a better option to avoid pregnancy.

Condoms: Condoms create a physical barrier that stops sperms from reaching the ovum and fertilizing it. This is the only contraceptive method that also protects you from most STDs/STIs. It is easy to carry and no hormones are involved in it.

Intrauterine device: These are small T- shaped devices containing copper wire. It can be used for a long time of 10 years. The device is inserted inside the uterus by a medical practitioner. It is a highly effective method for about 99%.

Contraceptive injections: It is a progesterone injection that prevents pregnancy in women for three months. It is effective in contraception but may cause an irregular menstrual cycle for a few months.

Contraceptive implant: This is a small and flexible rod inserted in the woman’s arm under the skin. It stops the release of the ovum by releasing progesterone in the body. This rod needs replacement every three years with a small procedure.

Emergency contraceptive pill: this is commonly known as the “morning-after” pill. It can be taken under 5 days of having unprotected sex but the sooner you take it the more effective it will be.

Abortion pills: When you face undesired pregnancy you can use abortion pills. These pills are effective up to eight weeks of pregnancy. You buy abortion pills online and do abortion at your home. Abortion pills cost much lesser than surgical abortion.

Permanent procedure: You can undergo a surgical procedure to prevent unwanted pregnancy for all your life. It is 99% effective and needs a small procedure of vasectomy in males and ligation in females. It is permanent and can not be reversed.
